Has anyone had any experience with the folding glass rear window for convertible tops? I'm tired of polishing out the fine scratches in my plastic window and need a new top anyway. It sounds like a good idea and I'd be able to tint all the windows, but does anyone know if its a good idea or not?

Thumbs down

Yes, I have one on my 67 and I hate it. #1, it has a seam between the 2 pieces of glass (flexible plastic.) It looks terrible. #2, you have to unzip it everytime you put the top down and zip it back up when you put the top up. On mine it's a 2-person job. I'm going to change the whole top because of this. I'd rather deal with a few wrinkles in the clear plastic versions.

Just use a soft towel or piece of heavy soft flannel - place it in the fold that the plastic window forms as the top comes down so that the window doesn't rub against itself when the top is fully down. Corvette guys have done this for years.
