Question

Does anybody know how much a '69 Camaro with a Big Block weighs? I can't find any book/manual that has a curb weight. I need this to determine what trailering requirements must be met in a tow vehicle. Any help is appreciated.

I believe that they are around 3200 lbs. with a small block. If you after exact figures go to a truck weight station and drive onto the scales. I think the station clerks disapprove of this so drive on and then act like you need directions. That worked for a friend of mine.

1969 chevrolet camaro published by chevy customer assistance center (these are free fron chevy, think i got the # from camaro.org) lists the performance weight @ 3987 for a 396 l35 with a 4-speed and 4041 for the turbo hydra-matic. the performance weight is curb weight plus 600 lb. (weight of four 150 lb. passengers) so the curb weight is about 3400 lbs.

Our Yenko Camaro weighed in at around 3500 pounds with me (150 pounds) and a full tank of gas. The car has an L-72 with a 400th. This was with the jack and spare in the trunk, just as it was delivered from Chevrolet.

Go to any local truckstop. Most have pay scales that allow the truckers to weigh their loads so they know if they are overweight. You can pay them to wiegh your car. I believe it's around $10-$20.
