Mine shut off at about 110. You can put an aftermarket chip in the ECM, that will remove the shutoff.

I used to have an 87 camaro. it had a 305 and a 4 barrel. my speedo only went to 85, but i got it back around to 25. i had a friend of mine pace me in his hi-performance firebird and he said that his speedo read 125mph. But i probably didn't have a shut off because it was not fuel injected. BTW my car was stcok except no cat.
