Roughly speaking how much does it cost to put a roll bar in a 67 coupe? not looking to race with the bar, just for show.

By all means, buy a kit. It's more cost effective and a lot less work.

I bought the kit from summit. I don't remember how much it was, but it was a weekend project to insatll. Backseat has to come out. Other than that, it is pretty easy. It does provide a good place for shoulder harness belts front and back, though.

I've seen the Autopower cage. It looks good, I'd try and get it with a pin in place seat belt anchor bar (horizontal bar across the seat back) not the welded in type. You can just pull two pins out and remove the cross brace for crusing. The roll bar can be ordered and easily upgraded to a cage with another kit. Or they have a complete welded cage.

I have a 4 point in my 68,bought it used, and don't know the maker.its just a hoop with 6x6 plates welded to the hoop,and the plates bolted to the floor.the two rear bars bolt to the hoop, they go through the package tray and are welded and bolted to the frame the hoop can come out for interior repairs,or mods.
i guess what i'am saying is, get the kit.

I second Davids input. Am close personal friends with the owners, (I am a local, Their down the block from me).

Their bars are a total no-brainer, not to mention it is, SFI......

My brother has the kit from Chassis works in his 67. The kit was approx. $232 with the rear down bars that contour to the car and then it cost him 300 to have it installed. The kit fits very nicely but it makes it a jungle gym to get into the back and the door bars are solid also. Good luck. ~ John

i use S&W products, located here in Pa.
there products and prices, you'll find are hard to beat. they also sell bolt-in kits, if that's what your looking for.

Damn, I must be the only one who had their cage built. Then again, I don't think someone like Chassis Engineering makes an 8 point cage for a Toyota!

My only advice: Whatever cage you get, if you have the race bucket seats, and they are mounted to the cage, buy a removable sterring wheel kit. It makes life much easier when you need to work in the car!
