Question

What is everyones opinion about using hood insulation? Does it really help keep the engine compartment cooler? With the cowl hood it seems like the air flow should help with the cooling. Any opinions?

I would say it has a more dramatic effect on reducing engine noise that can be heard from inside the car than it does reducing temperature. For this reason alone, I would recommend it's installation.

have to agree about the noise. i would think that the insulation might actually keep it a little warming under the hood, at least when stopped or in stop and go driving, by holding the heat in.

I AGREE WITH THE OTHER GUYS. IF YOUR CAR IS ORIGINAL IT LOOKS GREAT. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU
INSTALL THE PAD, THAT YOU PUT THE "CROSS PATTERN" TOWARDS THE HOOD. IT SEEMS BACKWARD, BUT IT IS CORRECT. THE CAMARO GUY.
