I'm looking for fellow rs owners for some tuning help. The timming is 8*b for the car, but it seems to lower the power when set. I have a edelbrock 600cfm carb that is set to a 20 vacuum, a powerglide trans, the car has electronic ignition and 25000 miles on the stock engine and cam. When I turn the destributer (counter) clockwise to 14*b, the car has more early power but loses some in the mid range.
Strange, I have a PG too and I have no low end, but when I get to 2500-3000rpm it rocks the rest of the way through 1st and 2nd, or Low and drive .. heheh
But I dont run a small 650, I have a 750 Vacuum secondary, with a soft spring, size 36 squirter and 68 jets, I had to have my good friend who is carburator king set it up, it took a few tries, but once it was set, it gets kick a$$ gas milage. and plenty of power.
