The window had scratches near the top when I purchased it. I found that when putting the top down, one of the folds goes against the window where the scratches are. The top was replaced sometime before I bought the car. It seems to be a tightly wove nylon or something. Not the old canvas type. It must rub the window while driving due to vibrations. What if anything can be done to prevent this?

I've used an ordinary cotton towel for years on my convertibles; as you put the top down and the window begins to fold, insert the folded towel in the "V" formed by the folding plastic so the window won't rub against itself when it's fully down. If you have scratches in the window, both Meguiar's and Mother's have 2-stage plastic cleaning and polishing products made specifically for plastic convertible top windows.

Thanks JohnZ. I read before about the polishes, but could not remember the products. That's the route I'll go.
