I just bought a new 377 Stroker from I guy back in PA. I've been looking into shipping cost and came upon a question. What is the estimated weight of a 400 small block complete w/ Dart aluminum heads, victor Jr. aluminum intake, holley 650, shorty headers, etc.. Basically a complete motor minus flywheel and front end stuff like water pump and pulleys. It is packaged and ready to go in a 48"x48"x48" crate with all the boxes that the parts came in. Also if anyone knows of any reliable/economical shipping companies, please let me know?

I shipped a complete 350 from Phoenix to New York for under 400.00 on CF freightways. Use a good crate.

I got a transmission shipped from CA to SC using Consolidated Freight (CF). The Vendor made the arrangements. If your buying from a Vendor let him do the work. Otherwise give Consolidated a call I'm sure they can estimate the weight.

Look for a shipping company close by and see if you can have them hold it at the terminal for you to pick up. I had a 700r4 tranny shipped from CA to Colo Spgs and since I work less than a block from the CF terminal, I arranged to pick it up there. That saved me quite a lot according to the guys making the arrangements.
