I am upgrading my HEI distributor to an MSD Ready to Run Distributor in my 68 Camaro 350. Right now the timing is 8 BTDC on the harmonic balancer. Before I pull the old distributor and mark the rotor cap, I want the number one cyclinder at TDC and therefor the rotor cap should be facing the #1 cylinder also, but will the timing mark on the balancer be at 0 or 8BTDC. I have read on this message board to find the number 1 TDC the timing mark will be on 0. Would this still be true if your timing is 8 BTDC. Hope this explains what I am asking. Thanks, Erik

it will be at 0, the 8 BTDC is set on your distributer.
