Ive got a 87 camaro v6 2/8 MPFI. I've heard you put a paper clip on the two top right terminals of the diagonostic port and it will flash like 12 times or something 3 times to tell ya its working ok then flash the codes well i did this and all i got was 1 flash a pause then 2 flashes over and over again. The battery has been very low the past week so im wondering if you computer lost the codes or something or if im doing this work and advice would help thanks.

your excellence
The flashing you saw was a normal code. It indicates that there are no problems that "SET" a code in the computer. Code # 12 1-2 is NORMAL for an engine that is NOT running. It means that there is no tach signal, which is normal when the motor is not running.
