Question

When I put headers on my small block 69 I could no longer use the factory overflow bottle. Do any of you have a system that used an aluminum bottle? If so I'd like some information on where to get one. Thanks Dave

Not sure what you mean by factory as they did not come with anything but a tube that would spit the antofreeze on the ground.

You can make a nice looking one that looks 'factory' by using the RS washer bottle bracket and utilizing a washer bottle on the pass inner fender for that purpose.

My 69 had a plastic bottle with a wire frame that mounted on the right front passenger fender. This was similiar to the washer bottle in appearance. With the headers I'm not able to use this system and was thinking about a polished system mounted near the
radiator support.

I have headers on mine and the whole deal sits high enough to not have clearance problems. The aluminum would look great.

I have Thorley headers and they are a little higher that most, which is preventing me from using the stock bottle. I think I can place one of the polished aluminum that are around 2" diameter near the radiator and save some space, what do you think?

Black,

I don't believe that bottle to be stock as suggested before. Just find a better spot for it. Behind the battery or on the drivers side of the core support are good locations. The core support should have several factory holes that would aid in mounting...

The problem I have is that the window washer is on the drivers side along with the ac compressor, the passenger side is where the old recovery system went, but with the headers there is no room as the ac condersor is also on that side. That's why I thought I might go with the 2" round, 15 inch long bottle. What do you think? I'll check for any other place for the factory plastic bottle but I'm really short on room.
