Question

I am restoring a 68RS and installing an M21 close ratio trans that came out of a 69 camaro. I am using the Munci shifter and have an issue with installing the reverse linkage. It appears the back of this trans is located 1 inch further back than it should be. I also noticed the housing is for an M22. Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks

Dan

The cases are the same they just drilled the main case for a drain plug on the M22. Are you using the correct shifter the motor was set back in 69.

The shifter is the correct Muncie 4 speed for the 68. I had to change out the linkage mounts to accomodate the muncie linkage as the trans came set up for hurst linkage. I also had to shorten the muncie shifter stiffener arm by one inch to make it fit. I am baffled at these differences.
