Question

Does anyone know how hard it is to replace the tranny cable in a 69 PG?

The cable came apart from the rod at the shift lever. Not a good time!

Thanks,
Rob

If it's the same as a 68,not hard at all.The cable is avalable at GM. The only part I had a problem with is installing the retaining clip, inside the console. The horizontal part of the clip, faces toward the rear of the car,and the console reinforcement is in the way.Trying to keep the cable in the hole and sliding the clip in takes two people.

Question

Dale,

Thanks again for the info! You've been a big help since I started posting here!

A question: Do you know if the replacement cable comes with the rod that attaches to the shift lever (On the floor)?

Regards,
Rob

Looking at the Rick's catalog the picture shows the cable complete with the rod attached. GM version $43.00, repo $24.00
