I was reading year one and saw a quote on the number of convertibles made. The quote from year one is as follows: " A TOTAL OF 62,100 CONVERTIBLES WERE BUILT FOR THE DOMESTIC MARKET BETWEEN 1967-1969. CONVERTIBLE PRODUCTION FOR THE EARLY CAMAROS BREAKS DOWN AS FOLLOWS:
1967 25,141
1968 20,440
1969 16,519"
JUST SOME INFO I THOUGHT WAS PRETTY COOL TO KNOW.

Is the Pete Estes Z/28 Convertible a lost car, or a found car?

I'll take a stab at this!! Lost is a car that is known to exist or have existed at one time but cannot be currently accounted for. I believe there are several 1969 ZL-1's of the 69 orig that are lost...

Talking

I saw the car this past Christmas. Guy lives down the road from my parents in Michigan.

You Michigan guys in Mt. Clemens have driven by his house a million times off of Metropolitan Parkway. You wouldn't know he had a handful of awesome, highly-valued cars, including the green '68 ragtop Z, as well as a smorgasbord of parts. You name it, he has it.

Super nice guy. He even let us take pics and video of the car. My dad met him when he was looking for a rear end for his 65 Vette.

What does this house look like ? I live about 10 minutes from metro pkwy. I'd like to see the car and any parts he may want to get rid of.

I thought that ragtop Z was in a museum? I went to a link from here sometime in the past (GEOCITIES?) and read up on it. Anybody have that link?

Cool

The guy who owns the 68 ragtop Z28 is Al Maynard. He lives between Garfield & Moravian on N. Nunnley which runs parallel to Metro Pkwy. He has anything and everything for almost any musclecar. He has ZL1s, Shelby Mustangs, Ram Air Firebirds, Vettes, Hemi cars... blah, blah, blah. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable.
