Question

I am looking to buy a running project Camaro.
I found a 67 RS with all parts included for $3800.I don't know if it had front disc brakes. It does have air conditioning. It has a Turbo350 and the guy doesn't know if it has a 10 bolt or 12 bolt rearend.
My question is, did alot of the 67 RS's come with a 12 or 10 bolt rearend and front disc brakes, and would you buy this car if you were me?

The rear end issue is easy as counting to 10 or 12. Although its $3800 don't think of it as a good a bad deal. Sometime a $1000 car may be easier & cheaper to restore. I have seen cars in the $6000 range that turn into a money pits. Remember it cost just as much to restore a inline 6 car as a big block. Focus first on the underneath & body. Go for original cars that have not been not molested. Even worn ,those are the best candidates for a nice restoration.

I would also check for rot in the trunk and on the shock towers... mine had it bad, the owner stacked a bunch of $hit ontop of all the rot spots so only the good sections showed, I thought it was fine... I also thought my floors were good, untill I looked underneath and saw that the orig floors were long gone, and they had did the ol sheet metal overtop repair,. although solid, its ugly...

the 67RS came with many different options, you could get the car with anything you wanted, usually it was 4 drums all around, doesnt matter, you can convert them. a 10 or 12 bolt was normal, but a 12 bolt would mean a big block , or SS model. BUT again , I have seen plain jane RS coupes with 12 bolts and a 327/275

if its a 327/210 (noted by the 2bbl carb) then most likely its a 10 bolt with a powerglide, or Saginaw (if your lucky)

but if you have the $$$ and its what you want, then buy it, you can always change what you want later on....
