Question

When I rebuild my 69 I would like to go from non-power 4-wheel drum to power 4 wheel disc - or at least front wheel disc.

IS this straight forward or am I in for a heck of a time? Do any changes have to be made to the subframe? (I saw a post below that indicated it was a disc brake sub frame)

Any kits that will make this a bit easier?

Thanks and have a GREAT holiday weekend!

Regards,
Rob

many disk brake kits require disk brake spindles as opposed to the drums you have. I got my disk setup from Aerospace Components in Florida and I love it. Bolted right in too. They sell kits to work with drum or disk spindles. All the stuff is billet aluminum too and looks very trick and is also very functionally capable with 4 piston calipers. If you get the rear kit, it also uses 4 piston calipers. Very nice.

Another thing you will need is to plum in a proportioning valve.

Rob,
I did this a few months ago. Do a search in the Brakes and Suspension forum. Just about every detail you could want about the swap are in those posts. Getting disks was one of the best things I could have done for my car! Good Luck!

Check out David Pozzi's web page. It has just about everything you'll ever want to know about brakes and suspension. Awesome!
