I have full tube headers H pipe and two chamber 40 series flows. My exhaust is very loud and i have this rattle that is very annoying. At about 2500-2550rpm its like a metalic sound that kind of sounds like its coming from the trunk or from that panel that the rear speaker go on. I have installed a layer of insulation between the gas tank and floor board and it helped with allot of the little ones but I cant get rid of this loud one! Is there anywhere that is common on these things that rattles? Its a 68. thanks!

That's why so many people dump their Flowmasters. Do a search on Flowmasters your describing the same problem everyone else is experiencing.

It sounds like you're describing resonance which the Flowmasters are famous for, especially the 40 series. I run the Dynomax super turbos with an "X" pipe and have no resonance at all.

Camaro6666, I had a similar noise and tracked it down to the end of the tailpipe. My pipes come out over the axle next to the frame rail and stop flush with the bottom of quarter. I hope I described that right. A bolt had come out of the exhaust support, and at just the right RPM the pipe would rattle and drive me nuts. I also have flowmasters with a H pipe and headers also. No other rattles in mine.
