Question

I have a 69 ss/rs with a 350 and a turbo 400 trans. The problem is the engine #s match but Im having trouble matching the trans. It doesnt appear that the pedals were changed but there is a hole cut in the floor that looks hand cut. I thought they only put 400s in big blocks. The engine #s come back 350/300hp man trans. help.

If there is a hole in the floor and your #'s call for a 4 speed car then it more than likely is. The #'s on the car won't lie and anyone can convert a car to an automatic from a stick. Look under the carpet or console and see if there is a welded up hole where the 4 speed shifter use to be. NICE CAR...I am doing one just like it but convert. My 350/300hp came with a turbo 350....Just my $.02

Check and see where your speedo cable come through the firewall, left of the steering column, auto transmission, right of the column behind the valve cover, 4 speed, not sure about 3 speed manual.
