what year?

67/68 dash key unscrew the bezle knob and remove the lock assy, there is a clip /pin inside you remove and the key tumbler falls out. replace in reverse order,

69 column key - put a pin in the hole and turn to ACC position, the tumbler falls out.

Jason, I think that you have to turn the ign cyl to the accessory position and insert a straightened paper clip into the small hole that is next to the key and continue to turn until it stops and then pull it out, it should come out quite easily.

To remove the cylinder, put the key in and turn it to "Accessory", then use a bent-open paper clip in the little hole next to the key; push it in (you'll feel a spring) all the way, and you can then turn the key counter-clockwise some more and it'll pop right out. Then you can unscrew the bezel and remove the ignition switch.

If you look at the back of the one that you pulled out, You should see how that trick with the paper clip works and you need to turn the new one to accessory, push in with paper clip again while continuing to turn until it stops and insert it and turn it to all the positions and all should be fine.
