Does anyone have experience with the B&M shifter for 73 to 81 Camoro consoles? How is the installation and it's performance?

I have a Quicksilver on my 67 with a TH350. I love it. Its the only thing I would have for a TH350. I dont have the kick down hooked up, so when I want to pass or just get on it I manually slam it back and off I go. Its also great off the line. Just hit the gas and shift. You cant skip gears in it, which makes it real consistant.

I've heard bad things about em too, do a search. The only shifter I have experience with is the Pro ratchet and Pro stick.

I've tried many shifters and I like the quicksilver the best. The only complaint I've heard is that you can't go directly from neutral to low, you have to ratchet it down, but that doesn't concern me. I like it because it doesn't have any stupid levers to pull up on.

I have quicksilvers in two cars now, and it is definately my favorite ratchet shifter. Simple to operate, clean looking, and never misses a shift.

My dad had one in a '81 Z-28. It fit and worked very well. The only problem was my brother pulled out in front of a guy on a motorcycle and tried to back up out of his way. Buy the time he got it in reverse the motorcycle had already hit him causing serious injury to the guy on the motorcycle, the motorcycle and the Z-28.
