Hey I was wanting to change my oil sending unit and I need to know if I need to drain the oil out of the car.

If the sender is behind the distributor, the answer would be no.....actually no matter where it is (not to sure about the "new" stuff) no oil drain would be required. Just don't start the engine with the pressure sender out!! Could be real messy.
