i wanted to ask you all if it is wise to switch to a serpentine pulley set up on my 69 or just stick to the v belt set up. I went to and all i saw there was a pulley set for a short waterpump, my car has a long water pump does this really matter? My car has a/c and power steering. I need to buy my vintage air kit first then move on to the pulleys from there. thanks for all the help.

I have a older engine in my car, pre-80, and I put the serpintine setup from an 89 firebird onto it with no problem at all. To do it right, I should have drilled 1 more whole in the head, cuz 1 bolt 1 go in, but it has no problems so far.

i hear a serpentine system is less likely to throw belts, and doesn't slip, the factory setups are easy to replace belt if it breaks...

I went with march also for a B/B.
They said that you would need a long nose for the serp. setup.

Zoops does make kits for long water pumps as well. I have the v-belt short pump kit and it went on great and adjusts very easily. I got it because I want to add AC later and I already had the short pump. I also checked into buying a March kit once but Mr. March himself sent me an e-mail saying that his company does not make v-belt kits. I found that funny and sent a response with part numbers for some v-belt kits of theirs in Jegs. He never responded back so he didn't need my money.
