Question

Can someone please tell me how to get the "heater core" out of a 69? Please see the pic, URL below, to see what I am referring to. I don't see how the unit comes out.

Also, is this unit for A/C?

Thanks,
Rob

The heater core does not come out through the firewall side, it comes out from under the glove box inside the car. And in regards to whether or not your car has/had A/C-the answer is no. It appears you had just a heater in your car. Hope this helps.

Go69 is right. It comes out when you remove the heater box from under the dash. Pull the hoses off first. Then it's just held in to the heater box with a couple clips. You'll be surpized what you'll find behind the core!

I would also suggest putting a nice piece of plastic or some old towels over your carpet before you do any core pulling as you are bound to stir up some goop and fluids.

Try this message. There's a little info on loosening the heater box (engine compartment side) that you might find useful.

Hope it helps
