I am trying to find out about an engine to see what it is and is it worth rebuilding. The Fo721d has me stumped...could be F072id?
It seems chevy, but not in a normal configuration.

It appears you are missing something. F=Flint, 07=July,21=21st day. D= nothing that I know of, usually a 2 or 3 letter code.

The only single-digit "D" codes I show for Flint-built engines are for a 1959 283 2-barrel Powerglide, and the same thing in 1964.

A ( D ) engine displacement code shows up as a 1957-58-59 turbo-fire 283/185HP they had rochester 2 barrel carbs- with a 7011131 code
number on it 9 or 10 other carb codes.Hope this helps, sounds like it would fit in my 57 vette.
