Installing residual pressure valve

All the recent talk about needing a residual pressure valve on a front disc and rear drum set-up has convinced me to install an RPV. Since I have an early 70s Corvette manual master cylinder (ie no internal RPVs) I was going to install an aftermarket inline 10 psi residual pressure valve in the rear brake line heading to the rear drum brakes. Now....... does it make any difference how far away from the master cylinder the residual pressure valve is installed or is it OK to install it 1/2 way between the master cylinder and the rear rubber hose to the differential? Thx.

I doesn't matter as long as it is there. You will only need one if you have the single line going to the read flex hose. They are directional so make sure you put it in the correct direction.
