Question California Car Cover?

I am looking for a good car cover that will protect my freshly painted car. It will be garaged but I want one to protect against dust, dings, etc.

I am leaning on the Dustop from California car covers but I see other companies have this same name (Dustop)cover. Is there any place you can order these covers cheaper than directly from California Car Covers?

Re: California Car Cover?

I don't use a cover on mine while it is in the garage. I have a nice coat of wax on it and then use my California Duster occasionally. I have it in the 3rd bay away from all traffic in the garage and there are no shelves or anything on the walls around it. I also keep the hood and trunk lid open along with the drivers side windows down. My garage is also heated so I don't have to worry about it getting cold.

Re: California Car Cover?

I have purchased the WOLF versions of Dustop covers for my Corvette and Camaro. I am very happy with the quality compared to the more expensive California Covers. I saved about $50.00 a cover. They are not quite as heavy, but still very soft and seem to do a good job of keeping dust of the cars. I was hesitant when I ordered the first one, but glad I did.

Re: California Car Cover?

Look for a cover made with Kimberly-Clark Evolution material, three layer cloth....very good cover.

If you're worried about dents, think about furniture pads/quilts sold at Harbour Freight.

Shouldnt you let the paint cure or fully off gas before you put a cover on it? Heck, I dont know...just thinking out loud.

Thumbs up Re: California Car Cover?

I use a Dustop cover and have had it for over 4 years. There is never any dust on the car when the cover is removed despite sitting sometimes for months at a time. I highly recommend this fabric for a garage application.
