Question on Writing Symbology - Pic Added

Request in knowing the name(s) of writing symbology, for example,
The symbol is a sine wave with two forward slanting slashes through the middle of the sine wave.
I suggest it means: 'Not applicable', but I would like proof.
Other symbols also. Pictures added.
Thank you!!

re: Question on Writing Symbology - Pic Added

In 40 years of electronic design I don’t recall ever seeing such a symbol... Maybe a pic of the schematic where it is used will jog my memory...

I googled every sine, sign, symbol and combination I could think of and I never saw a thing that came close to what you posted

I have seen this symbol along with others, but 'Over 40 Thing' kicks in.
I remember my technical ENGLISH book had a table of symbols.
Thanks, Guys

Re: Question on Writing Symbology - Pic Added

Maybe seeing the whole page would add context to the symbol... Just seeing what is partially there it almost looks like using a single quote to denote the same as above or a vertical line to indicate the same as above down a column...

Your request has been added, Everett

Wow, my memory is just shot. I can remember using this symbol but I couldn't tell you what it means. It's been so long. I'll be glad to get a definitive answer.

My mistake, I thought you were referring to an electronics schematic...

I hate to argue with John; but I too believe it is just the writer putting in a mark to let you know that there isn't information to convey other than I didn't leave this space blank unintentionally.

I think Mr. Dave won the contest.

The document looks like an old military spec for paint. The government hates blank boxes. Every box must be filled with something.

When you file your tax form, the instructions always state to enter 0 if you made no money. Don't you dare leave that box blank.

I think the tilde with two vertical lines is an old version of N.A.

Re: Question on Writing Symbology - Pic Added

Thanks to all for your answers. I am going to go with Dave's answer of a space filler and with Patrick's answer of an old Not Applicable symbol.
Yes, it is a page from a weapon spec, WS9780 - Process for applying a Protective Coating, I.e., primer and paint and the repair of a pretreatment coatings to bare metal, both ferrous and non-ferrous.
It would be nice in finding documentation supporting these answers. But then, since it is a gov't document, I could be a smart butt and hand it back for them in finding the back-up.
