Yes to all the above.

In 67 when I 1st started driving legally there were "gas wars" with the prices under 20 cents a gallon. Fill my Dads 64 Impala SS when he let me drive it for under $5.00.

Last but not least the schools can't teach common sense which seems to be much lacking in today's world.

I am right there with John. Bought my first car in 68 for $75. Couldn't drive til Jan. 69.

Bought gas for 15.9 cents a gallon at one time.

Used an outhouse for a full summer when I went on the wheat harvest so I could afford another semester of college.

I don't remember all of them, but probably enough to qualify as an old fart. Have used an outhouse within the past year, and have a friend that still uses one daily. Won't even consider using the bathroom in his house. He grew up with an outhouse and says, "If it was good enough then, it is still good enough for now".

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Yep I remember all of them. To prove it, I had to blow up the "older than dirt quiz" to read it!

Re: Humpday Humor, 5/22 ... A Mirage

My first job at age 14 was at a Phillips 66 gas station a few blocks from home in Iowa. We had periodic gas wars in town, one time I sold gas for 16 cents per gallon. (in 1965) Checked the oil, washed the windows, checked tire pressure too. Oh the good ole days
