Unique type of jack stand

This looks like a very safe way to support your vehicle. No more wood cribbing and storage of the wood cribbing. How much? I'll inquire and get back.

I like the design too, can't swallow the price I found on their FB page, $275 an axle, plus shipping with 2-3 weeks lead-time.

Think I'm heading to Home Depot for 14 2x4s

Re: Unique type of jack stand

Useless if you need to work on your brakes or suspension. I'll just stick with regular jack stands, thank you. Does the job, nowhere near that price and are adjustable.

Re: Unique type of jack stand

Good idea, I like the adjust ability, easier to setup under the car than the fixed height 2x4 stand.
sometimes you just need to have the wheels supported or the suspension weighted and at ride height, and a jack stand wont work.

Re: Unique type of jack stand

I was really interested in these until I saw the price. If $275 per axle, no way that's in my budget, but I'd like a set, good design. $275 for a set of 4 then maybe.

Re: Unique type of jack stand

Funny timing...I just went to HD yesterday to buy 2x4's and deck screws for jasckstand risers. I have used them several times before on my other car for trans swap and need to swap the trans in the 67

I think the stands in the video are really great...but the $ is tough. I spent $20 on the 2 risers I made yesterday that are 5 rows high (7.5")

Well, yes it will for sure. I might make some if I can find the time. The emergency room might just be 5 times that, heh heh. or more, but the morgue is a give me.

No, but THESE will, and at a MUCH lower cost. I can buy 4 jack stands and 4 ramps for less than $200. (Although I don't have to. I probably have a dozen jack stands and half a dozen ramps in my garage right now!!)

Something like these where you can get the ramp out of the way, but then they get pricey again.

Those Harbor freight ones that are open like that could flatten out.. ?

I have a few sets of good jack stands, but they just don't take the place of the 2"x 4" cribs for certain tasks that I occasionally do.

And for the $ I'll stick with the home made wood stuff for now, but those metal ones sure are nice.

While I ALWAYS advise caution when purchasing anything from Harbor Freight, I've had those same ramps for several years now and they're still in "as-new" condition. Not everything from HF is garbage (although a lot is), but yes, you have to read the reviews and make your decisions based on that. You also have to compare the old reviews with the new. They DO make changes to their products and something that was complete crap several years ago, might just be fine today (or vice versa)!

Re: Unique type of jack stand

those stands would take up as much room as my cribbing. with cribbing I can adjust to the 1/2" if need be
