that money then was just as hard to come by as the current value would be today for the average working person
example: $3,000 in 1970 equals $19,992.02 in 2019.

Even at today's prices that would be a very good deal. Can someone hurry up and get that time machine invented.

I went into the local Chevy dealer yesterday and was wishing I could buy a new Camaro at 69 prices. My first Camaro rolled out the door for $3100. Base V8 PG and an AM radio. Can't touch that today even if you add a zero to the price.

I was 13. The original owner only had one name on the title so he may have lived at home with his parents. My love of these cars was fueled also by my neighbor. He was a single guy that lived with his widowed father and worked for Illinois Bell Telephone as an installer IIRC. He had a 68 SS396 that had a rear main seal leak three times. After he got it out of the shop in back the third time he drove it out front a traded for a Fathom Green 69 Z/28.
