Got mine... Giving it back and more before July 15th... There is a web site you can visit and give your info or determine if they your info. Don't remember what it is, use the google machine search for Covid checks or some variation of that.
I got mine in the form of a paper check. I don't know why it was an actual check as my refund has been directly deposited in my checking account for the last several years. A few weeks later I got a envelope in the mail from the IRS stating that my check went out and to contact them if I didn't get it. Got to say that I was nervous to open the IRS envelope. Never received one before.
That follow up envelope made me nervous too! I was glad to ball up that letter! That stimulus money is phony. Makes all your other money less valuable. Mine was direct deposit. My son got the paper check. My drinking buddy got a loaded plastic card. IDK!
Same thing happening in Canada, they call it CERB (Canada Emergency Response Benefit). It's going to come back and bite us for sure. Time to go and live off the grid so no one can find you.
That makes 2 of us....crickets from the IRS..... no money. They're just giving us back a very small portion of what they already confiscated from us, such generosity.
Didn't get mine yet.
I checked a month ago on the IRS site "were's my money click" and it said since I use a third party tax software like Turbo Tax, H&R Block, etc. the IRS needed my tax ID, my 2018 tax prep AGI, and amount of refund or payment to confirm. They also need your bank routing for direct deposit. It says the third party software won't release the information of their clients.
It was the IRS site for sure because I talked to a few friends that did the same.
IMO, it would make a whole lot more sense, and be a lot easier, for the IRS to say just keep what you owe us for 2019.
Yep, I agree. Nothings Free. Gonna cost us in the end.
