Paint Matching

Good afternoon,

I am trying to find someone in the Atlanta area that can do some paint matching. If you look at this picture, you may remember the car from years ago. A guy named Jason bought it from CJ in New Jersey off ebay and it had a cracked block sealed with bondo and painted over.

I bought the car from Jason about 11 years ago. When I got it, Jason had replaced the hood, painted to match the car, with one that didn't have holes in it. What I want to do is to have the hood painted as close as I can get it to the color it is now and have Z/28 striped painted on it and on the back deck. I haven't had much luck. Painting the entire car is not an option unless all of you want to take up a sizeable donation and have it painted for me...

The paint has some pearl in it. I contacted CJ years ago and he said that the color it is now (it was originally Ralley Green) painted came from a toy car. If I can get close enough, it won't matter too much if it's an exact match as the stripes will take up most of the hood. But I'd like to get as close as possible.

Any suggestions or anyone know anyone that maybe I could send some scrapings to? Actually, I could send the spoiler as it will be replaced and have to be repainted also. It has paint bubbles under it because whoever painted the car didn't do a good job.

Many thanks,

Re: Paint Matching

Find a collision repair shop that uses Dupont or BASF. They will probably have a scanner that will get you close - the pearl might be tough to match perfect. If you have it blended into the surrounding panels any color mismatch will be almost impossible to see by the average eye.

Re: Paint Matching

Looks like a hot wheels car. I like it!

Good luck in getting matching paint.
