67 SS Nose Stripe

I know there is lots of forums and info out there. It's tough to take it all in because some of it contradicts itself. I post these questions before and got a few answers but not all of them.

1. What is the size of the actual "SS" badge?
2. Is the badge centered between the large stripe with the 9/16 and 1/2 spacing and 1/2 and 9/16 as mentioned before?
3. Is the "SS" badge centered off the headlight?
4. Pending on build date is whether or the stripe stops at the bottom of the bumper or continues past it to the end of the panel?
5. What are the correct measurements for the "chevrolet camaro" emblem on the top outside nose area that goes somewhere in the stripe?

First stripe ???
- .83 from the front on outside and slightly tapers into .75 in the center.
- Stripe width is .10
- Spacing is .12
- Large stripe width is 3.75
- Spacing is .12
- Stripe width is .10

Re: 67 SS Nose Stripe

4) yes although I don't recall the approximate date change.
5) your answer is in this thread. https://www.camaros.net/forums/34-re...l-emblems.html
Yes on the dimensions. Follow the rest of the AIM dims for the fender peak and wrap around.

Re: 67 SS Nose Stripe

1. One S is 1" tall X 1 13/16" wide

2. I believe they look better centered to the strip but that is hard to do. The Assembly Manual has the dimensions below, where they are located.

3. No the headlight has nothing to do with it. The SS emblems are located about 1/8' to 3/16' above the center break of the fender. That may be covered in the Assemble Manual dimensions but it's hard to tell.

4. I am not aware of the build date where they shorted the strip. I do have pictures of some 67 Indy Pace Cars and they have the shorter strip so it was before May.

5. This thread will answer this question.

One problem I have seen is the rear line of the strip, below the SS or RS emblems should NOT go straight down. That line should break to the front, ever so slightly to make it appear it keeps the dimension of the strip going around the finder curve.

Re: 67 SS Nose Stripe

Those SS emblems are hard to put on , I did mine and I would not want to do it again . drilling into new paint you only get 1 chance to get it right

Re: 67 SS Nose Stripe

You can cut the posts off the emblem and use 3M emblem adhesive if you don't want to drill for the emblem posts

Self stick emblems may be available also
