Outer wheelhouse to trunk dropdown

I'm working on welding the outer wheelhouse and trunk dropdown on, however there is a gap between the two. Is there supposed to be a gap or are they meant to be connected together?

Thanks

Re: Outer wheelhouse to trunk dropdown

The arch should be tight to the wheel house and spot welded.

Re: Outer wheelhouse to trunk dropdown

Test fit the quarter panel. The shape of the outer wheel house might change when you fit the quarter panel. I had the same problem as you. I had the same gap between the drop off and wheel house. My gap between the drop off and quarter panel was also too wide.

Fit it to the trunk pan, wheel house, and quarter panel to the drop off before welding anything. I used sheet metal screws to temporarily hold everything together.

Thanks, good idea on the quarter panel fit too. I have been using the screws to hold the wheelhouse before i weld it.
