PPG Shop Line / Delfleet Questions

Hi All, if all goes well my car will be going into paint in June. My arrangement with the shop requires that I furnish the base and clear material. The shop has suggested I source Shop Line for the base and Delfleet Essential for the clear.

In doing some reading it appears these material selections are production shop grade products. I plan to keep this car for a long, long time and with good care I'd like to be happy with the results ten years from now.

The color I'm going with is Ferrari Grigio Silverstone Metallic. Is there another PPG base line I should be looking at? What about the Delfleet clear?

Where are the bodies buried?

Thanks very much -

Re: PPG Shop Line / Delfleet Questions

Eric, I can't help you with the Shop Line question but I do know not all colors (mixes)
are available in every line of paint. This may actually mandate what line of paint to use.
My experience is metallic's generally require a higher level/grade paint line.

Will be stopping by the paint shop later today to find out. From what I can see of the show cars on the PPG site it appears most use Deltron 2000 DBC for the base and either DCU 2021 or DCU 2002 for the clear. Maybe someone here has experience with these materials and can add their insight. Thanks -

Eric, I see you're in California. That's going to further limit your choices due to
VOC compliance. The paint shop will know. Hopefully you'll get to talk with a
knowledgeable person and not just a counter sales person.
