Please would someone know of a gas tank repair on plastic. An epoxy or glue whatever you have tried and know that it will work. Remember this is for a plastic gas tank. Thanks for all reply’s.
Most plastic repairs require something that bonds the pieces together.
The material fuel tanks are mode from is solvent resistant so it is really tough to get a good bond.
JB weld & epoxies sort of stick to the material but can be broken away when it flexes.
You would be better off looking into some form of plastic welding, that uses heat to melt the parts together.
When it comes to a fuel tank & the danger of a leak, it is really better to consider getting a new one.
First you need to know what type of plastic it is. An HDPE kayak cut in half can be welded back together. HDPE is solvent resistant. Sometimes buying new is easier.
I've seen where they fix/patch holes in intakes and smooth them out on LS motors....they use a soldering gun
I'd be VERY careful with gas fumes !!!!
