Question

For those that have replaced the fuel line with a new one after a subframe-off\trunk & floor pan replacement, I'd like to know where the tank end comes out from behind the trunk pan.

I mocked mine in (from Ricks - 3/8" line) last night and placed all the clips\clamps so I could tweak the line as close as I can get it to the body and frame rails. I haven't set the clamps for the length of line that runs up along the rear frame rail yet because I need to find the best place to drill holes for the 2 clamps first. The rear frame rails were replaced.

The tank end of the line angles down around the curve of the trunk pan and then slightly away from the rail. It's about in the middle of the trunk. Is this approximately where the original would be? The manuals are no help in placement whatsoever. Before I put the fuel sender in the tank and mount the tank, I want to make sure the two lines are going to be close to each other. If the end of the line is nowhere near where it should be, I'm gonna have to cut and reflare the end.

I seem to think the end of the line should have ended more towards the rear of the fuel tank and not in the middle of one side. The line fit great otherwise. All the bends were right where they needed to be.

Thanks

The tank end of the supply line follows the rail till about the 10 o'clock position. Then it angles down to the bottom side of the frame rail and actually turns in towards the sending unit outlet. The tubing is held in place with a clip having a hole inside it. I believe the clip does not clamp onto the tubing, it is bent so it interferes with the natural bend.

Somebody will have to provide you with a picture to get the scoop.

Thank you Charles!

You said the manuals show some measurements for the lines in relation to the rails and floor, but I must have missed them. I'll look again.

The measurements and pics you gave me lead me to believe that the tank end of the fuel line DOES end somewhere next to the trunk floor, and not back further near where the rear of the gas tank would be.
As far as the clips and that bracket, I guessed at their locations last night and I was pretty damn close!

Time to coat the clips in black Plasti-Dip and drill a few holes! On to the frame connectors next!

Thanks again.
