Re: Good but bad weekend....

We got a slight set back. The shop can not verify if there is a crack in the #4 cylinder. They had issues magnafluxing it, but there is something there. I called the guy I got it off of and he came over within an hour to inspect it. He said he has seen this before and its a water stain that he has seen before on boat motors.
I'm taking the block to another shop to have this one cylinder magnfluxed. If the shop is in question, they will pressure checked it.
It's always something......

My front tires are P205/75/15.
They measure about 27". They rub just a little on the inner fender when turning hard.
My front springs are Santhuff 200lbs.
Thanks for the offer on the belts.
Nice looking 69! How was the install on the Santhuff 200's?? Did you have to cut the springs at all?? SBC or BBC? I was looking at the 180's or 200's possibly down the road. Mine is a 69
with aluminum headed bbc. Thanks!

Thanks Ron, Scarey to me. I hate installing coil springs. MY front springs are not cut. I have a aluminum headed bbc too. My battery is still mount in the engine bay. I had 225lbs. before but sat to high.

Re: Good but bad weekend....

Wanted to update some things.

Got the pistons

and I also changed the front end of the car. Still need to get the molding for around the grill opening and put the front spoiler back on.

That's it for now.

Re: Good but bad weekend....

Are you going to paint the grill surround and headlight doors body color?

Re: Good but bad weekend....

I thought about going with the body color, but decided against it and I'm going to leave it the semi flat black.

Re: Good but bad weekend....

Looking good Bruce. Did you ever verify the cylinder issue? water mark? I haven't touched the camaro in i don't know how many months. Been working on the kids mustang and we've been working on building a shop so i can quit renting one.
Also had a roof put on and the swimming pool resurfaced so the camaro fund got hit pretty hard. Maybe next spring lol.

My 69 X66 project.

Yes, I had the cylinder confirmed by another shop. They magnafluxed the block and bored the "questioned" cylinder .002" and the stain cleared right up.
Currently the block, crank, rods, pistons are up at Andy Jensen's shop awaiting to be machined, I called Chris Straub and paid for the new heads and cam. I got a new Moroso oil pan and pickup, new Cloyes timing chain, Fel pro gaskets, Victor R intake, new roller lifters, it's like Christmas in April...LOL
Well make sure the pool is fixed for when Fish and I come down...LOL
Your young, you got plenty of time to take care of the Camaro.
See ya bud.

Re: Good but bad weekend....

Time for an update....
The motor build continues, P to V was checked and all is good, the cam was installed and degreed, the timing chain and cover are on, as well as the balancer.
Ray got the odd side all put into their new home.

While I'm waiting on the motor, I got the RS grill all done and I decided to repaint the rear taillight panel satin black.

That's it for now.
