69 coupe doors

Team,
I'm in the process of fitting the doors that came with the car and they are in sad shape the guy who had it before me must have owned a bondo shop because the skins are full of it.The shells aren't in to good of shape either.
I would like to know if anyone out there has purchased door shells that they would recommend I take a look at.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

David

Re: 69 coupe doors

If the doors and the hinges are in good shape buy door skins and repair the shells. AMD's are a good replacement shells and skins IMHO - good thickness/fit.

Re: 69 coupe doors

David, You might want to ask a moderator to move this thread to the body shop forum. My suggestion is look for original GM doors.

Re: 69 coupe doors

I don't have experience with the complete shell to share but I would agree with previous resonses on using GM door frames and wrapping a skin on it. It's not terribly difficult and I don't recall seeing a lot of enthusiasm for the complete shells. You can certainly use the search function over in the body shop section...you'll find some fodder in there.

Re: 69 coupe doors

thanks everyone for the info!!!
I will conduct a search in the body shop section.

Tony,
Hang in there and you will be there before you know it.That's one hell of a build!!
SO I may just buy me some doors from AMD if not skins.

thanks
David
