Smile 69 Camaro SS Yellow RamJet 350 improvements

I have a 69 Camaro that I bough in Spring of 2014 and it did come with good paint and new fuel injected engine (RamJet 350). I am going to post/repost some projects to this thread that have been done. It may be a resource for someone else.

Re: 69 Camaro SS Yellow RamJet 350 improvements

I replace the interior and carpet and put new Infinity Kappa 4x6 speakers in the kick panel after cutting out a hole in just the right spot! I used OEM speaker grills in the kick panel

I also replaced the sony rear 6x9 with Infinity Kappa speakers and an Infinity 75watt per channel AMP (yes upside down since I wired it that way ) . I also replaced the plastic liner in the back with molded carpet from RICKS.

this last photo shows the loop style carpet from RICKS

Can you get a full picture of the trunk carpet and also how it fits up near the tail panel. I think I like this idea.

Yes....wondering how far it goes up to the tail lights and also how close it is the rear seat and side to side. Is it form fit to the trunk pan?

I have a 67 so mine could be slightly different.

i try to remember tonight. it fits really good, the edges are sewn and no trimming required. it is molded for sure. not just laying in there. it goes all the way up to the seat back

Which dynaliner did you go with? What thickness. Do you think it made a big difference heat wise. Or are you going for sound deadening?

Re: 69 Camaro SS Yellow RamJet 350 improvements

I went with 1/2 inch and won't really know how it does until spring here. I won't drive it until probably April or May, but I'm really going to enjoy not hearing all the road noise. I'm excited

Re: 69 Camaro SS Yellow RamJet 350 improvements

I bet I need to look into this more for heat reasons. Here in Florida its almost to hot to drive in the summer and I have AC. Black on black doesnt help. Thanks again

Re: 69 Camaro SS Yellow RamJet 350 improvements

putting the dynamat extreme on the floor but especially the roof would be your best bet. Adding dynaliner would be even better but it won't fit on the room under the headliner.

Ricks Carpet for the trunk

Notice that the edges are finished and that it is split to fit the contour of the rear of the trunk

fits all the molding of the trunk

and slips right up to the back of the seat. If you want to cut a hole for the tire hold down you have to do that yourself

I bet the trunk carpet tones down the muffler noise inside the car some. Can you tell a difference?

Re: 69 Camaro SS Yellow RamJet 350 improvements

I'm sure a little bit but I also just sound deadened my entire interior with dynamat and dynaliner and between the springs of my rear seat back I stuffed a furniture blanket to muffle sound from the trunk. I figured any barriers I can place should only improve the 'quiet'.
