Finally!! Making progress.
I bought this car around 20 years ago with high hopes and dreams and empty pockets. Though the pockets are still empty; I’m finally able to make a little progress.
My thoughts for the build are what I saw referenced as a “semi-pro touring” build. It’s not going to have the best of everything, but I hope for it to be a fantastic driver. I actually plan on daily driving it.
So far I’ve been working with MCB for parts and they’ve been fantastic with unbeatable pricing.
Plans are: RideTech Streetgrip suspension, with a turn one quick ratio box. Those among with several other parts have already been sourced from Matt’s Classic Bow ties. ( tanks inc gas tank, Holley oil pan, transmission crossmember, Holley mounts, and a griffin radiator) I’ve got a truck 6.0 ls engine and a 4l80e. I wanted a big block bad, and have one, but since it’s gonna be a daily the ls route only makes sense to me.
I’m still undecided on brakes, I have a set of C5 calipers but I’m not sure if I wanna be stuck with bigger rims all the time. I’d like to be able to put a “drag pack” on it some times.
A friend of ours is doing the body work for me. It will hopefully be in full primer soon. We’re going ahead and cutting in the jams with Marinal blue while it’s apart. Hopefully more updates will come soon. The car will be marinal blue with a black bumblebee stripe. Unfortunately 20 years ago I shaved the door handles and it was done professionally and will have to stay. I’m also looking for the best route to finish these shaved door handles out. Maybe Watson’s?
