Template trick

Need to make a template to transfer emblem and trim holes to your new parts from the old? Take large sheet of aluminum foil and fold it over on itself three or four times. Flatten and smooth the aluminum foil (rolling pin).
Lay the foil of the fender, trunk or whatever and hand form it to match the part. Rub the foil over the hole area with a spoon, poke the holes indentation with a machinist scribe. transfer the preform template to the new part, mark the holes with a sharpie. No need for measuring or taping paper to the part.
After transferring the holes the tin foil can be used to make a helmet or underwear.
