Tracking down an old car?

Hello all:

I am not sure where to post this, but had a question...

Do any members out there no of a service that helps you track down the locationof an old car?

My very first car was a 1977 Nova...I know it sounds silly, but I'd really liek to find out if it is still out there somewhere...I sold it 18 years ago...

Thanks,
Keith

Re: Tracking down an old car?

if you have the VIN number you can run a basic check of the national database which will tell you if it is out there, branded as salvage or totaled by insurance. Then the hard hunt starts to find where it is registered, then maybe you can find a tax record with a name.

Re: Tracking down an old car?

Private Investigator should be able to track it down if you can give them as much info as possible (VIN, original plate #, name/address of person you sold it to, etc) but if it has moved out of state, the hunt becomes harder.

Re: Tracking down an old car?

It was tagged in NJ at the time of sale, and sold to a guy in PA...I have found him on facebook, and sent him a message to see what he did with it...hopefully he responds...
