Another Hood Question . . .not a Camaro

My 69 C-10 Chevy Pick-up that tows my Camaro to shows has a hood issue. When I unlatch it, it does not pop up so I use a plastic tool to pry it enough to get my fingers under to open! It does not have a spring like the cars. I have adjusted the hood part of the latch in and out to no avail. Any ideas to solve this annoying issue that I have lived with for too many years!!

Re: Another Hood Question . . .not a Camaro

The hinge springs pull the hood up a few inches when the primary latch is released on these.
If the hood hinge springs are weak they will not 'pop' it up - but, a tweaked or resistant hinge will also keep the hood from 'popping' ...
Be sure to completely clean and lube the hinge system well before replacing the springs (replace in sets).

I've see guys install a later pin with a spring on it - not sure if they were retrofitting a newer system or trying to cure the 'pop' issue
