1987 Celebrity shifts hard

I recently bought a 1987 Celebrity, 2.8 6 cylinder, automatic and 62,000 miles. It was my aunt and uncle's and they bought it new and kept it in their garage. It's really nice inside and out. [ it even has the window sticker and build sheet. Wish my 69 Camaro had that] They both have passed away and I bought it from my cousin who had taken possession of the estate. First thing I noticed when I started home with it was it had a dead miss. Turned out to be a clogged fuel injector.

I noticed it shifted hard from first to second then. It still does it but doesn't seem to be as hard. Do these cars have a vacuum modulator hose like the earlier transmissions like a turbo 350? I wouldn't think this is normal. Any ideas if this is a problem and what can be done?

Thanks, Wayne
