Re: Not a camaro but need quick help

Hard to say, what does the estimate say needs to be done? Most times a bumber skin gets hit the entire bumper is replaced do to possible foam core damage... $600 sounds like the plan to fill any dent, feather blend the color coat in the damaged area and clear coat the entire bumper...

It was a 2 mph tap. The chip was probably there already. No dent

But as I already asked, what is the written estimate for? They have to say what they plan to do and itemize the costs! If you want someone to tell you if the estimate of $600 is correct you need to tell us what the estimate says!

Don't know. It was the price the other driver gave. No details. I'm not letting my friend pay anything unless I see a detailed list of work done

Re: Not a camaro but need quick help

Will the insurance company step in and protect your friend from being over-charged for unneeded repairs?
Our insurance company here allows you to re-pay the claim and keep your safe driver discount intact.
Sounds to me like somebody is padding the estimate.
We own a VW Jetta and someone bumped me in a similar manner.
The entire bill in 2011 was $389 and the entire rear bumper was painted.

Re: Not a camaro but need quick help

What about liability insurance? I had a chair blow out the back of my truck and tear up a couple of cars on the freeway. Didn't pay a dime and my insurance never went up.
