Re: 2002 chevy avalanche fuel pump
Not a big deal if you got time. If you are an experienced wrench, you can do it in an afternoon. If you are not so experienced in a day.
You'll need a floor jack to hold the tank up and move it up and down, and preferably a helper to help steady it when lowering/raising.
Hardest part is getting the lines and electrical connectors off without damage while balancing the tank halfway removed so you have enough room to get them off.
After that once it's out just clean the nut area well and unscrew. Make sure you replace the o-ring/boot. Lubricate nut and o-ring/boot with a little silicone spray on reinstallation.
If you have to have the pump out for some reason for longer than 30 minutes, reinstall the cap nut to keep it's shape.
