90k+ Service on Silverado?

Hey guys,

My 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 6 Cylinder and Auto has 110k miles and never had a major service when it hit 90k miles. I want to catch up the servicing with a new serpentine belt, brake job, transmission coolant & filter change and new fuel filter. Question: Am I correct in this model having a timing chain (as opposed to a belt) and thus, not necessary for it to be replaced? Anything else that should be attended to at this time?

Thanks

Charlie

Re: 90k+ Service on Silverado?

It has a chain. You should also replace the fluid in the rearend and front end if it is 4wd. Clean the throttle body with carb cleaner and old tooth brush, run lucas fuel injection cleaner and if you have a way to draw the power steering fluid out, change it and also the brake fluid if you can pull that fluid out.
