Re: Shipping rear end
I shipped a BE 12 bolt to PA from OKC. Number one: drain COMPLETELY. Shippers do not want the thing to leak 90 wt all over.
I strapped it down on a heavy wooden pallet very well with metal construction strapping and dry wall screws. Then wrapped the whole thing in plastic wrap.
I shipped terminal to terminal with Old Dominion. I had it insured for $10,000. They didn't bat an eye. Cost was around $300. Of course, going terminal to terminal means the recipient will have to go to the closest OD dock to pick it up, but it also means they will load it on his pick up or trailer with a fork lift.
Hope this helps.
