2003 Mustang Convertible

Wife said she's having problems with the top going up and down as its very slow to do so either way. Don't know much about convertibles but figure a motor operates the top. Anyone have ideas or had experiences? Is the motor due for a replacement or is there something else I should be checking?

Re: 2003 Mustang Convertible

I have a 98 vert and it goes up and down fine, even with 240k on the clock. The only problem that I have is with the ground wire hooked up to the parking brake. Lots of times when I pull up on it to raise and lower the top I have to pull it up and down a few times before the light in the dash goes on and the ground for the top motor is completed. Aside from that it could be lots of things, bad motor, bad pistons, air in the lines etc. There are tons of these things in the junkyards so a replacement pump or piston would probably be pretty cheap.
